Supporting an Active Housing Market
The GHBA is relentless in its efforts to keep the Houston housing market affordable. In spite of the area’s rapid growth, the organization has contributed to making Houston the most affordable market amongst the top 20 in the U.S.
Empowering the Concept of Affordable Housing
With reasonably priced housing as its main objective, the Affordable Housing Committee (AHC) works to facilitate productive interaction between builders and developers with communities in need of affordable housing. This committee strives to help make the American Dream of home ownership a reality for more area residents through a variety of efforts.
This year the AHC will focus on the development and presentation of an Affordable Housing Forum. The forum, to include city, county, state, and federal officials, will involve workshops, panel discussions, and case studies on affordable housing. Additionally, during their monthly meetings, AHC committee members continue to discuss successful partnership models and devise productive strategies that overcome existing barriers that might limit serving more communities in need. |
